At the session held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Dr Cédric Kron had the honor of being appointed Associate Member of the National Academy of Surgery.
The National Academy of Surgery is the oldest surgical institution in France, tracing its origins back to the Royal Academy of Surgery founded in 1731. Full and associate members, honorary members, foreign members and independent members represent the various surgical specialties.
The National Academy of Surgery carries a moral responsibility with regard to surgery. It is the guardian of its history, a witness to its evolution and the guarantor of its ethics. It contributes to defining good surgical practice (references, recommendations, strategies) and to evaluating the technical aspects of surgical procedures. The Academy also oversees the conditions under which surgery is practiced and assesses the training and recruitment of surgeons.
It is a great honor for Dr Cédric Kron to sit on this prestigious institution alongside his peers and his mentors.
It is an even greater pleasure to become the second academician in the family, after his father, Dr Bernard Kron, a visceral and urological surgeon who published his own technique for inguinal hernias, having operated on more than 3,000 patients, and who was his first surgical mentor.
On February 5, 2020, Dr Kron had had the honor of presenting his own facelift technique at the National Academy of Surgery.
