Plexr® is a non-invasive medical treatment for immediate skin retraction based on Plasma technology. Plexr lifts the skin, reduces wrinkles and corrects skin imperfections without surgery, incisions, or scarring. Plexr is particularly indicated for treating sensitive areas such as the eyelids. It can therefore be considered a relative, temporary medical alternative to blepharoplasty and eyelid lifts.
Principle of Plexr: immediate skin retraction through the effect of Plasma
Designed by the Italian laboratory Spega Medical, Plexr is a latest-generation medical treatment that introduced Plasma technology to aesthetic medicine and dermatology.
Plexr takes the form of a handpiece fitted with a metal tip. When this tip is brought within a few millimeters of the skin's surface, it creates tiny heat points on the surface of the skin (epidermis), through a plasma phenomenon. Plasma is an energy rich in electrons that vaporizes the superficial layer of the skin, and is only generated when the handpiece is at a distance of about 1 mm from the skin's surface.
The action of the plasma allows for controlled superficial abrasion as well as immediate skin retraction through biostimulation. The skin is re-tensioned safely, without bleeding, scarring, or deep diffusion of heat or electrical intensity. Indeed, thanks to Plasma technology, there is no deep diffusion of the energy delivered by Plexr, either into deeper tissue or into adjacent tissue.
Plexr has the advantage of offering immediate and lasting results, with very simple recovery.
Indications for Plexr treatment
The plasma technology used by Plexr treats three types of indications: loss of skin firmness and elasticity, wrinkles and fine lines, and skin imperfections.
Plexr is particularly indicated for treating the upper and lower eyelids. It can be considered a temporary medical alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid lift).
Firming and rejuvenating the skin
Plexr is a treatment particularly indicated for treating skin laxity, whether on the face or the rest of the body:
- Correcting droopy eyelids (medical eyelid lift).
- Smoothing the skin of the neck.
- Treating skin laxity around the abdomen, particularly around the navel (peri-umbilical lift).
- Re-tensioning the skin of the arms.
Thanks to Plasma technology and different power levels, Plexr is as effective on thin tissue like that of the eyelids as it is on the umbilical area or the inner arms.
Wrinkle treatment:
The skin-retracting action of the Plexr treatment makes it effective for removing and reducing wrinkles and fine lines of the face and body. Plexr can notably correct:
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow's feet
- Perioral wrinkles (commonly called "barcode wrinkles")
- Wrinkles and folds of the neck
- Peri-umbilical wrinkles
- Pre-auricular wrinkles
Aesthetic dermatology procedures:
Plexr can also be used to correct skin imperfections such as:
- Acne and chickenpox scars
- Xanthelasma, a skin condition that forms yellowish plaques on the eyelids, which can notably affect people with diabetes or high cholesterol.
- Sun spots such as lentigo
- Freckles
- Seborrheic keratoses (flesh-colored, brown or black growths)
- Stretch marks
- Angiomas (red or purplish spots caused by excessive dilation of blood vessels)
- Fibromas, benign skin lesions that take the form of a soft papule protruding from the skin
- Milia (white spots on the face caused by microcysts of keratin lamellae)
- Certain scars, notably keloids (thick, fibrous scars)

Plexr: a medical alternative to blepharoplasty
Due to its skin-firming and wrinkle-smoothing action, Plexr is a medical treatment particularly indicated for treating droopy eyelids in their early stage. Indeed, the non-invasive plasma-based technology used by Plexr is particularly suited to treating very thin tissue like that of the eyelids.
Plexr significantly re-tensions and smooths the skin of the lower and upper eyelids. It provides a lifting effect that rejuvenates the eyes.
Treatment of lower eyelids with Plexr
Due to the very significant results achieved by Plexr on the eyelids, it can be considered a relative, temporary, non-invasive medical alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) for treating early-stage skin laxity around the eyelids.
Based on your original anatomy, Dr. CĂ©dric Kron will let you know whether Plexr is suitable for achieving the result you want. In some cases, particularly if the eyelids have fatty bags or more significant skin laxity, a blepharoplasty may achieve a better result.
Dr. Kron uses all available pre-, intra- and post-operative means to help patients return to social life in under a week as part of cosmetic eyelid surgery. He uses the transconjunctival approach for the lower eyelids whenever possible, which leaves no visible scar and greatly limits the side effects inherent to this type of procedure.
What happens during a Plexr treatment
A painless treatment
About 45 minutes before the treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated. This cream makes the treatment more comfortable, particularly in sensitive areas (such as the eyelids).
Unlike other aesthetic medicine treatments aimed at rejuvenating the skin, Plexr is virtually painless, as the current produced does not pass through the skin, does not involve needles penetrating the skin, or deep heat transfer.
A Plexr® session lasts about 30 minutes. The session duration can vary depending on the characteristics of the treated area.
After the session: very simple recovery
A Plexr treatment does not involve prolonged social downtime or significant side effects.
Plexr does not involve incisions or deep heat diffusion, but it does involve small scabs (500 microns) in the treated area (one small scab per impact point). These scabs fall off naturally after a few days. Care should be taken not to scratch these scabs before they fall off naturally. They should be gently cleaned with water and a neutral soap.
Slight swelling (edema) and inflammation may appear in the treated area for a few days. They disappear naturally after about a week.
Sun and UV exposure should be avoided in the weeks following the session. To avoid the risk of hyperpigmentation of the treated area, sun protection should be applied for the weeks following the treatment.

Contraindications:
Plexr can treat women and men of any skin type.
Contraindications are limited and mainly relate to the precautionary principle. It is notably contraindicated in pregnant women and in people who have recently had significant sun or UV exposure (it is then preferable to wait until the tan fades to avoid the risk of hypo- or hyperpigmentation) or who have recently had surgery on the treated area.
Results achieved with Plexr
When can results be observed?
The results of a Plexr treatment are visible immediately after the session. Indeed, Plexr's plasma technology causes immediate skin retraction in the treated area.
Results continue to improve in the days following the treatment and can be considered optimal after 7 to 10 days.
How many Plexr sessions are needed?
While an improvement in skin quality, a reduction in wrinkles, or a reduction in skin imperfections may be observed after the first session, 2 or 3 sessions are recommended to achieve an optimal result. Sessions are generally spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart on average.

How long does the result last?
Plexr achieves an immediate and lasting result. Depending on the indications treated, the longevity of the result can vary: 1 year or more for wrinkles, 2 years or more for the eyelids, permanent for dermatological indications.
To maintain the result achieved, a maintenance session of Plexr every year or every two years may be advised, depending on the indication.
