ONDA Coolwaves: an innovative body-contouring device
ONDA is an innovative body-contouring treatment based on the action of electromagnetic microwaves from Coolwaves™ technology. These waves, at a frequency of 2.45 GHz, excel at treating fat, cellulite and skin laxity. These waves have the characteristic of accelerating the metabolism of fat cells, which "sweat" until they disappear and are then eliminated by the body.
Waves that target fat cells
ONDA generates microwaves at 2.45 GHz, a frequency that is absorbed more by fat molecules than by water molecules. When the waves penetrate the skin, they pass directly through the epidermis and dermis (which contain a lot of water) to concentrate their action on subcutaneous fat. Unlike traditional external radiofrequency systems, which only act on the surface, 8% of the energy delivered by ONDA targets fat cells. This achieves greater effectiveness while protecting the skin.
The action of Coolwaves™ on fat cells:
- The microwaves induce a "blebbing" mechanism: fat cells (adipocytes) release more lipids than their physiological capacity allows.
- This mechanism becomes so intense that it produces a destructive effect on fat cells, causing a rupture of the cell membrane.
- The fat droplets released into the interstitial connective tissue trigger the recruitment of macrophages, whose role is to "clean" the cellular interstitium of excess fat.
- Finally, the macrophages migrate to the lymphatic system and are naturally eliminated by the body.
When to use an ONDA treatment?
A body-contouring treatment with ONDA is indicated for women and men who want to correct cellulite and orange peel skin, reduce localized fat deposits while firming the skin.

What happens during a session
Before the session
A body-contouring diagnostic consultation is offered to patients to determine whether ONDA treatment is indicated based on their expectations and body shape. This consultation is an opportunity to determine a tailored treatment protocol involving several sessions or combining different treatments.
ONDA treatment is contraindicated for people with skin conditions (inflammation, infection, herpes), serious vascular disease, or a risk of phlebitis or thrombosis.
The ONDA treatment
The ONDA device consists of two handpieces allowing for two treatment levels. The "superficial" handpiece (7 mm) treats skin laxity and cellulite. The "deep" handpiece (12 mm) eliminates cellulite and fat.
The session lasts about 15 minutes per treated area (an area of 15 cm by 15 cm). Depending on patient expectations, up to 8 areas can be treated in a single session. For example, it is possible to treat the hips, buttocks and thighs at the same time to target saddlebags.
The 5°C cooling system built into the handpiece avoids the burning sensation inherent to microwave use. The session takes place in complete comfort and safety.
After the treatment
ONDA is a non-invasive device that involves no burns or side effects. For a few hours, skin redness appears due to the release of heat caused by the treatment.
Daily activities can resume immediately after the session. Care should be taken regarding sun exposure during the first few hours following the treatment.
Results of ONDA Coolwaves treatment
When can the result be observed?
An improvement is visible from the first session. However, 2 to 4 sessions are recommended to achieve an optimal result. These sessions should be spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.
The result is not immediately visible after the treatment. It reveals itself gradually in the weeks following the treatment, as the body's lymphatic system eliminates the fat cells. It also takes a few weeks for elastic tissue (collagen, hyaluronic acid, elastin) to reform in order to retract the skin.
It is advisable to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the treatment protocol to ensure optimal results.

ONDA Coolwaves: an alternative to cosmetic surgery?

These non-invasive treatments, which involve no hospitalization or recovery time, treat the same indications as liposuction, submental liposuction, a tummy tuck, a thigh lift or arm procedures in some cases.
