Surgical or medical aesthetic treatments such as a lift, a peel, a Botox injection, or a hyaluronic acid injection rejuvenate the upper third of the face by re-tensioning the skin and reducing forehead wrinkles and frown lines. Several rejuvenation techniques exist depending on the patient's wishes and the nature of their face.
1. Aging of the upper third of the face
Aging of the upper third of the face is caused by three natural phenomena:
- The effect of gravity (or ptosis) on the tissue between the frontal scalp and the eyebrows
- The action of the frontalis muscle, responsible for transverse (horizontal) wrinkles
- The action of the muscles located in the glabellar region, between the eyebrows and the root of the nose, which cause vertical grooves (frown lines) and horizontal grooves to appear, potentially giving a severe appearance.
The different techniques for rejuvenating the upper third of the face offer two types of treatments:
- Symptomatic treatments, which correct the effects of aging by reducing wrinkles: forehead lift, filling with a hyaluronic acid injection, smoothing with a peel.
- Etiological treatments, which address the cause of the wrinkles: botulinum toxin (Botox) injection, which partially paralyzes the frontalis muscle, whose weakened contractions prevent the formation of transverse wrinkles. Based on your anatomy and wishes, the surgeon will present and recommend the cosmetic surgery and aesthetic medicine techniques most appropriate for your case.
2. Frontal lift
A lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure. It is intended for patients who want to remove forehead sagging, permanently correct a poor eyebrow position, reduce frown lines, and lift the eyebrows and eyelids. It relies on different techniques to re-tension the forehead and eliminate wrinkles.
Dr. Kron performs the lift using classic incisions, mini-incisions, or endoscopy.
This lift results in a scar hidden within the hair.

3. Treating forehead expression lines with Botox injections
Botulinum toxin injection is a procedure that has been used in aesthetic medicine for about ten years. It is effective for removing forehead wrinkles and correcting sagging in the upper part of the face. It creates paralysis of the forehead muscle, which removes wrinkles.
The result of a Botox injection is not permanent.

4. Filling forehead wrinkles and fine lines with a hyaluronic acid injection
The principle of a facial aging treatment using a hyaluronic acid injection involves introducing under the skin a product that creates volume in areas where it is lacking. This technique is indicated in certain cases for treating wrinkles, notably those of the forehead. Hyaluronic acid fills in the areas hollowed out by aging.
