The UltraClear® laser (Acclaro) is a latest-generation technology based on an infrared fiber laser. It delivers visible improvements in skin quality, while generally being more comfortable and involving simpler recovery than traditional ablative lasers. It is intended for patients who wish to restore radiance, smooth skin texture, correct signs of aging and loss of firmness, treat certain skin imperfections (spots, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, acne scars), and address certain superficial skin lesions (nevi, keratoses, etc.).
UltraClear Laser Principle
UltraClear® by Acclaro is a so-called “cold” ablative fiber laser, validated by clinical studies and FDA-approved (U.S. health authority). It uses a 2910 nm wavelength, designed to be highly absorbed by the water contained in the skin.
This innovative technology enables highly targeted ablation of skin layers, with reduced thermal diffusion to surrounding tissues.
Result: generally faster recovery, fewer side effects, while maintaining excellent efficacy for resurfacing and dermal stimulation.
An effective technology…
and better tolerated
Unlike conventional ablative lasers (fractional CO₂ or Er:YAG), UltraClear operates at a very high level of water absorption: a large portion of the energy is used for skin ablation, limiting unnecessary heating of surrounding tissues.
This precision allows:
- action at various depths (from surface to mid/deep dermis),
- progressive collagen improvement,
- and good tolerance, including for various phototypes.
Different treatment modes
UltraClear® offers several modes, allowing precise adjustment of depth and intensity:
- 3DMIRACL (10 µm) and CLEAR (5–30 µm): Very superficial action (stratum corneum).
Goals: radiance, skin texture, superficial spots. - CLEAR+ (40–100 µm): Epidermal action.
Goals: photoaging spots, texture, fine lines. - ULTRA (50–1500 µm): Dermal (deeper) action.
Goals: more pronounced wrinkles, scars (especially acne), skin density. - ULTRACLEAR: Dual action (superficial + deep).
Goals: radiance + dermal remodeling in a single session. - LASER-CORING (5–80 µm): creation of vertical micro-columns with dermal stimulation.
Goals: deep wrinkles, skin laxity, selected scars, with generally lighter downtime than other deep ablative lasers.
Two complementary effects in one session
UltraClear technology combines two complementary actions in a single session.
Surface resurfacing
UltraClear improves texture by removing damaged cells and superficial irregularities. The skin becomes progressively smoother, brighter, and more even-toned.
Deep rejuvenation
UltraClear creates controlled micro-stimulation zones in the dermis, activating natural repair mechanisms: collagen production, elastin, and hyaluronic acid synthesis.
Results are progressive: improved firmness, wrinkles, spots, and scars depending on the indication.
Benefits for patients
Acclaro UltraClear laser treatments offer numerous advantages thanks to an innovative technology combining efficiency and safety.
- More comfortable treatment: often better tolerated than conventional ablative lasers.
- Simpler recovery: faster healing due to limited thermal diffusion.
- Natural and long-lasting results: gradual improvement in skin quality.
- Customizable treatment: from a “glow” effect to deep resurfacing.
UltraClear indications
UltraClear is a versatile tool for skin rejuvenation and correction.
It helps correct, smooth, and rejuvenate the skin through precise, personalized treatments:
- Smooth skin texture,
- Restore radiance,
- Improve elasticity and firmness,
- Reduce wrinkles and fine lines,
- Improve certain scars (acne, traumatic, surgical),
- Correct pigmented lesions (lentigines, pigmentation disorders, melasma depending on indication),
- Treat superficial skin lesions (seborrheic keratoses, etc.).
A laser suitable for all patients, regardless of phototype
UltraClear is designed for all patients wishing to improve skin quality and prevent signs of aging, regardless of age or skin tone.
- Ages 25–35: ideal for preventing early wrinkles, evening skin tone, correcting minor texture issues, and treating acne scars.
- Ages 35–50: targets moderate wrinkles, early skin laxity, and sun/age-related pigmentation.
- 50+: enables deeper resurfacing to smooth wrinkles, reduce older scars, restore radiance, and stimulate firmness and collagen.
Suitable for various phototypes
UltraClear® is designed to be used on a wide range of phototypes. Its energy is primarily absorbed by water rather than melanin, helping reduce the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, particularly in medium to dark skin tones, when properly indicated and adjusted.
UltraClear treatment process
Facial diagnostic consultation
During a facial diagnostic consultation, your expectations and skin condition are assessed to determine the most appropriate treatments.
Scientific skin analysis tools such as Visia Complexion Analysis or Skinscope LED may be used to define the most suitable treatment protocol.
At the end of the consultation, the recommended UltraClear treatment will be explained, along with the procedure and expected after-effects.
Before treatment
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure in the weeks before the session.
- Stop exfoliating/irritating skincare one week prior.
- Hydrate the skin regularly.
- Treatment can be performed in summer months if strict sun protection (SPF 30+) is applied beforehand.
The day of the treatment
A session lasts 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the area and intensity.
After cleansing, laser settings are adjusted based on the indication and your skin.
The laser precisely vaporizes superficial layers while delivering controlled heat to stimulate regeneration and collagen production. A sensation of moderate heat and tingling is normal.
Post-treatment, care products are applied (repair serums, moisturizer, soothing mask if needed), along with sun protection and personalized instructions.
After the session
Immediately after treatment, mild redness is common. A sunburn-like sensation may occur but fades within hours.
The next day, redness, swelling, and sensitivity are more noticeable, typically resolving within 3–4 days. UltraClear triggers natural desquamation and exfoliation.
- With light treatments, peeling is minimal and easy to conceal.
- With deeper treatments, peeling is more significant, with small darker dots (micro-columns) that fade within days.
Compared to other deep lasers, recovery is generally lighter and faster.
Avoid direct sun exposure for 4 weeks and apply SPF 30+ daily.
Results with UltraClear
When are results visible?
Depending on the indication:
- Light to moderate treatments: visible improvement in 7–14 days, continuing over weeks.
- Deep treatments: noticeable improvement from 3–4 weeks, continuing for 3–6 months due to collagen regeneration.

FAQ
Does UltraClear require downtime?
Downtime depends on treatment intensity:
- “Glow” protocols: little to no downtime, mild redness and swelling.
- Deeper resurfacing: a few days of redness/peeling, generally shorter than other deep lasers.
How many sessions are needed?
Visible results can appear after one session, but:
- Light to moderate treatments: 2–3 sessions recommended.
- Deep treatments: often 1 session, sometimes a second after a few months.
Is the treatment painful?
Generally low pain, better tolerated than other ablative lasers. A topical anesthetic is usually applied. A sunburn-like sensation may last from 30 minutes to a few hours.
Precautions before/after?
- Before: avoid sun exposure, stop irritating skincare, mention any medical treatments.
- After: strict sun protection, avoid prolonged exposure, use moisturizer.
