Neck rejuvenation with Botox injections is an aesthetic medicine treatment that effectively removes platysmal \"bands,\" corrects signs of aging such as \"turkey neck\" or skin folds, without resorting to a cosmetic surgery procedure.</p>\n<h2>1. Principle of neck rejuvenation with Botox injections</h2>\n<p>Botox injection in the neck is an aesthetic medicine technique indicated for patients who wish to rejuvenate their neck <strong>without resorting to cosmetic surgery</strong>. Botulinum toxin has been used for over 20 years, notably to treat eyelid or hand spasms. In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin has found application in the <strong>treatment of wrinkles</strong>.</p>\n<p>Generally, botulinum toxin is used as a local injection to cause targeted muscle paralysis in order to reduce expression lines. As part of <strong>neck rejuvenation</strong>, Botox injection limits the muscle contraction of the platysma muscle responsible for the \"<strong>bands</strong>\" located under the chin (turkey neck, skin folds).</p>\n<p>It should be noted that in cases of significant skin laxity or excess fat, a neck lift or cervicofacial lift will be more appropriate (<a href=\"/en/face/facelift-lvpa/\" title=\"LVPA facelift\">LVPA, or deep anterior vertical facelift</a>). During the initial consultation, the surgeon will advise you on the <strong>appropriate technique</strong> based on your wishes and initial anatomy.</p>\n<p>Depending on the indication, botulinum toxin injections (Botox®, Vistabel®, Dysport®, Azzalure®, Bocouture®, etc.) may be performed in the relevant areas. <strong>No anesthesia is necessary</strong>; Dr. Kron uses extremely fine needles. Botulinum toxin is injected superficially and in small quantities to avoid its spread to the pharyngeal muscles, which make up the pharynx.</p>\n<h2>2. Recovery after non-surgical neck rejuvenation with Botox</h2>\n<p>Recovery from a botulinum toxin injection in the neck is generally not very painful. Slight redness or mild edema may appear for a few minutes, and rarely for more than half an hour, in the treated areas. A return to daily activities is possible immediately after the procedure, aside from any intense physical exertion.</p>\n<p>The <strong>result of neck rejuvenation</strong> is visible between day 3 and day 5, with the full result visible after 2 to 3 weeks.</p>\n<p>As with any aesthetic medicine procedure, the <strong>result of non-surgical neck rejuvenation is not permanent</strong>.
